We’ve been using this song in math to remember our coins and their worth during our money unit. WARNING: its pretty catchy!
As we are reviewing and continuing to learn about rounding, we have been using this song to help us. Now you can listen and practice at home too!
It is the 4th nine weeks already! This month we are working on getting ready for 4th grade by refining students’ time management and problem solving strategies. Be sure to continue to complete homework every night; if there are any changes in homework with testing or as the year comes to a close I will update you via Remind.
Here are some important dates to note:
April 10th -17th Spring Break NO SCHOOL
April 2oth Interim Reports
April 28th Field Day (wear blue)
May 4th & 5th 3rd Grade Reading SOL test
May 11th & 12th 3rd Grade Math SOL test
Also for your listening pleasure… the perimeter song! This catchy tune has been helping us in math over the past week. Ask your student to show you the dance moves!
Love is in the air… it must be February! We are excited to continue to love ourselves by incorporating the 7 Habits of Healthy Kids into our day to day learning. Below are the checklists that have been going home every other week, just in case you misplace one. Remember to have a conversation with your student about how they will incorporate that habit into their life, complete the checklist items, then sign and turn it in for a few extra DOJOs.
We’ve also been practicing this song to help us remember the 7 Habits. Check it out!
Here are the February updates, newsletter and homework. As stated in the newsletter, please remember to send in valentines for all 19 students if you choose to send them on the 14th.
As always don’t hesitate to contact me via remind, email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or just give me a call. Thanks!
On Thursday during our whole group reading, we did a “Reading Carousel” activity in which students read short stories in groups to find the Main Idea and supporting details. The students loved getting to read along with their peers, rotating around to each book and sharing their findings!
This past week we have been working on rounding. Here is the song we’ve been practicing to remember our rules. Feel free to sing it at home to help out your student!
